SIC InC, a barrier-breaking classical music ensemble of Yale undergraduates, presents amplified chamber music in shows that assault the senses, combining rock-concert lighting and video projections in a contemporary, energetic way.

About SIC InC

BIO:

SIC InC

The group’s iconic name stands for “Student Independent-Classical Interdisciplinary Collective”.  It was founded to be just that: a collection of artists intent on sharing ideas and visions.

STRONG START

Now in its second year, SIC InC has consistently played to sold-out venues. The first show, Sic Futuristic, sold out all four of its performances at Yale in April, 2009.  Later that year in October, the group performed in a joint concert with the Yale Symphony Orchestra, a midnight Halloween Show that entertained more than 2500 cheering students in Yale’s Woolsey Hall.

CREATED BY YALE STUDENTS

SIC InC was conceived of and created entirely by Yale Undergraduate students.  The ensemble is managed by students, and the performances are directed by students.  The group represents some of the best artistic talent that Yale as to offer and features the unmatched innovation of the next generation of artists.

MULTIDISCIPLINARY APPROACH

SIC InC’s performances go far beyond the scope of those of any other Classical ensemble.  SIC InC prides itself in featuring video, choreographed lighting, precise sound design, and staging alongside the musicians as they perform.  Before any performance, external artists are invited to rehearsals to critique and advise the group’s direction.
